Katy Karnes grew up in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada, and has enjoyed painting from a young age. When she was five, she was given a Crayola Art Station and discovered how magical and bold colour can be. The paint always seemed to make it past the paper, onto the walls, the floor, and onto herself.
Katy watched her aunt, Catherine Karnes Munn, paint every chance she could get. Catherine would gather Katy, all of her cousins, and paint with them at the kitchen table. Katy quickly discovered her own unique style of painting that has developed into what you see today.
Katy is well known for her uplifting, highly textured, nature inspired art. Having grown up on a lake, she has a strong connection to nature and water and loves to paint outside. She has shown her art in numerous places in the Maritime provinces of Canada, and she has also shown in New York City. She has customers from all over the world.
She would like to express her deepest appreciation to all of you for encouraging her, for being excited to see her new paintings, and she thanks all of you for hanging them on your walls.
