Originally from Boston, Daphne received her BFA from Lake Forest College in 1991. She has also studied at the American University of Paris, Parsons Paris, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Daphne began painting full time in 2007 only after moving to Connecticut from New York, where she had been a design director for the Gap.
Before she began designing in 1999, she worked in exhibition sponsorship for both the Metropolitan Museum and the MFA, Boston. She has also worked in education at the National Gallery of Art and for the curator of prints and drawings at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
Now, as a painter, she finds inspiration for her work along the coastline of New England.
Her studio is in New Canaan, where she also lives with her husband, Chip.
