Dennis Lyall


Dennis Lyall is a native of Iowa, and graduate of the University of Kansas (1968). He was awarded a gold medal for his work, while still a student, by the Society of Illustrators.

His career as an artist and illustrator has spanned over 40 years. During his career, he has painted for many of America’s biggest and most successful advertisers and publishers. Clients have included Reader’s Digest, General Electric, Nabisco, Random House, NBC, National Geographic and Big Apple Circus. Dennis is well known for postage stamp designs. The U.S. Postal Service has issued 38 stamps featuring his designs, including work in the “Celebrate the Century” series, and the Merchant Marine block of four.

Dennis often has work chosen for inclusion in the Society of Illustrators Annual exhibition. His portrait work is included in several private collections, as well as the collections of the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard and Northeast Utilities.

He has served as Museum Director of the Society of Illustrators in New York City and board member of same.
His Western paintings are shown at West Lives On Gallery in Jackson, WY.
