Ginabeth Culbertson grew up just across Long Island Sound in the lovely shoreside village of Northport. An artist from her youth, she has always been entranced by the vivid colors and vibrant patterns of sand, sea and meadow. Now a long-time Fairfield resident, Ginny has had nearly a decade of arts education at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan, where she has exhibited her work with a focus on the human figure and portraiture in oils. Her study there went in-depth into art history, with a particular focus on the masters of Impressionism. Her teachers at Silvermine included Dmitri Wright,Tom Brenner, Dean Fisher, Will Nathans, and others. Beyond the scope of her work at Silvermine, Ginny has developed her own personal approach to acrylic expression focused on abstract, floral and maritime themes.
