Jacqueline deMontravel is an artist with media experience as a creative director, editor, writer, designer, photographer and stylist. She is the author of eight books, including Hers, The Vintage Table and Vintage Vavoom: Decorating with One of a Kind Finds.
With decades of creative expertise, Jacqueline was the editor of Romantic Homes and editorial director of Engaged Media’s lifestyle group, which publishes Victorian Homes, Cottages & Bungalows, Yum magazines and special issues such as American Farm Style, Seaside Style, Cottage White, Happy Modern and Rooms. Formerly the editor of Country magazine, Conde Nast’s Self magazine and GQ, she also has been a contributor to Hearst’s Harper’s Bazaar, Oxygen Media, Lucky and Black Book magazines.
Her background in art began as a child when she accompanied her mother to museums while she studied for her MFA. Jacqueline went on to study fine arts at Georgetown University. She is inspired by such abstract artists as Matisse, Picasso and has an affinity to Milton Avery for his bold use of alternative colors. When she creates customized pieces for a client she cultivates the inherent design aesthetic of a home and nurtures its defining qualities.
