Marianne V. Kuhn was born in New Jersey, graduated with a BA in Education from Montclair State College and currently lives in Suffern, NY with her husband. She studied oil painting many years with John P. Osborne at the Ridgewood Art Institute. Her work was also influenced by classes with Scott Christensen, Kenn Backhaus and John Traynor. The purpose of her painting is to translate lighting and atmospheric effects in an effective composition.
She has won landscape awards from The American Artists Professional League, The Ridgewood Art Institute and Stamford Art Association. She has also been accepted to show at The OPA Regional Show, The Salmagundi Non Members Jury Show (NYC), American Artist’s Professional League, (NYC) and The Hudson Valley Art Assoc. Her work has been collected by the General Electric Global Research and Development Lodge, Niskayuna, NY and by NY Gov. and Mrs. George Pataki.
Marianne’s painting travels include Victor, ID; Teton National Park, WY; Nantucket, MA and Charleston, SC.
