This May, the Geary Gallery of Darien is proud to present “Abstract Color and Texture” featuring the abstract acrylics and oils of Northport, Long Island native and Fairfield resident, Ginabeth Culbertson. Her exhibit runs May 1 – 31 at the Geary Gallery located at 576 Boston Post Road in Darien.

Abstract artist and Fairfield resident Ginabeth Culbertson grew up just across Long Island Sound in the lovely shoreside village of Northport. An artist since her youth, she has always been entranced by the vivid colors and vibrant patterns of sand, sea, and meadow.

Culbertson studied for nearly a decade at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan CT, with a focus on the human figure and portraiture in oils. Her study there went in-depth into art history, with a particular focus on the masters of Impressionism.

Her teachers at Silvermine included Dmitri Wright,Tom Brenner, Dean Fisher, Will Nathans, and others.

Outside of her work at Silvermine, she has developed her own personal approach to acrylic expression focused on abstract, floral, and sailing themes.

The Ginabeth Culbertson exhibit runs May 1 – 31 and her paintings are available for acquisition. All are welcome, and admission is free.
