This June, you are cordially invited to the Geary Gallery to see “Abstract Inspirations” featuring the pensive abstract paintings of artist, interior designer and writer, Jacqueline deMontravel. Her exhibit runs June 1 – 30 and she’s available for interviews.
Jacqueline deMontravel is an artist in the truest sense of the word; she has decades of expertise and media experience as a creative director, editor, writer, designer, photographer, stylist, and also abstract painter.
Her background in art began as a child when her mother was studying for her MFA and she accompanied her to museums. deMontravel went on to study fine arts at Georgetown University. She is inspired by such abstract artists as Matisse, Picasso and has an affinity for Milton Avery for his bold use of alternative colors.
She has been widely celebrated for her talents as a stylist in which she creates unique interior design spaces. She cultivates the inherent design aesthetic of a home and nurtures defining qualities.
Chez M’Lain recently interviewed deMontravel for its blog series, “At the Table” which gave readers a peak into this highly accomplished artist’s life. As author Amelia Fendell describes, “She laughs and explores life at its richest and is generous and a true crusader of the classics.” Read the full article here.
Jacqueline deMontravel’s exhibit runs June 1 – 30. Her paintings are available for acquisition. All are welcome and admission is free. To view some of her work, visit our online gallery.
