About Tim Eaton
Tim Eaton has been painting landscapes for as long as he can remember. He draws inspiration for the works he paints entirely from recollections and his imagination.
Though he constantly studies nature through observation and digital photography, he never uses any visual references near his easel. He has adopted this way of painting after many years of traveling and painting watercolors “en plein air” across the United States and in faraway places such as France, Italy, Turkey and China.
Eaton’s landscape paintings capture poetically harmonious moments in the natural world. They are infused with his own experiences, growing up in the northeastern U.S., but can stir emotions or recollections for many casual observers regardless of their geographic location. “When I’m in front of the easel, it’s like being on vacation somewhere near or far, where all that matters is the feeling of freedom to create and inspire,” he muses.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts from the University of Vermont and went on to study with Richard Whitney of the Boston Guild of Professional Portrait and Landscape Painters. He also spent two years studying painting techniques at the National School of Decorative Arts in Nice, France.
Professionally, Eaton has taught painting and finishing disciplines to trade groups in the paint contracting business. Currently, he maintains a commercial studio in Stamford, CT where he teaches privately while continuing to develop his own unique style of painting.
Tim Eaton’s exhibit runs February 3-27. All are welcome and admission is free.
